Greg Louie

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Long before he was promoting the Diamond Certified Resource, Greg Louie knew the value of differentiating quality for consumers. “Before I got into the ratings industry, I was in the sports equipment business—specifically, manufacturing custom-built golf clubs,” he explains. “In competing against major manufacturers, I was always looking for ways to differentiate my company from others. I realized the best way to stand out was to provide the highest quality service in the industry. Later, when I got an opportunity to join a ratings company, I knew it would be a good fit because I had firsthand knowledge of how differentiating quality could benefit consumers and businesses alike.”

Greg has dedicated most of his career to delivering quality service to his customers. Whether it was in the golf, high tech or ratings industry, customer satisfaction has always been his main focus. Greg has earned awards for his high retention and referral rates in every professional position that he has taken on. “I realized very early in my career that good things happen to people who really care about their customers and surprise them with a service level that surpasses their expectations.”

Today, as Chief Executive Officer of American Ratings Corporation, Greg continues to derive enthusiasm and gratification from his professional role. “I love the fact that I can look in the mirror every day and honestly say I’m helping my community,” he says. “By connecting consumers with quality local companies, the Diamond Certified Resource is a true win-win for all parties involved, and I wake up every morning excited about that.”

A resident of San Ramon, Greg devotes most of his time outside of work to his wife, Joyce, and their daughters, Sydney and Panda. “My family is my top priority,” he affirms. “Our girls are both very involved in dance, so Joyce and I spend a lot of our time attending their practices and events.” Greg also sets time aside to pursue personal hobbies such as sports. “I follow all the Bay Area teams and like to play golf, softball, and kickball. I also like going out and trying different restaurants around the Bay Area. Food is probably my biggest weakness, so it’s a good thing I play a lot of sports to burn off those extra calories!”

In his life and career, Greg espouses a simple yet profound motto. “Some years ago, I was out golfing with my best friend on a beautiful summer morning and I just said, ‘Life is good.’ That has kind of been my mantra ever since. It’s easy to dwell on the bad things in your life, so I think it’s important to stop and take inventory of all the positive things.”
